Game Genres-
Platform games-
-Are set in a vertically exaggerated environment. Players navigate their environment by jumping and climbing on platforms, while avoiding obstacles and battling enemies in order to advance to the next level. This normally involves unrealistic physics and special movement ability.


Action adventure game-
-Action adventure game tend to focus on exploration and usually involve item gathering, simple puzzle solving, and combat.
-Popular example includes Grand Theft Auto

Shooters-
-In shooters game, players use weapons to participate in the action, which takes place at a distance.
-Most shooters involve violent gameplay, however, some shooters, such as Splatoon, have non-violent objectives
-Shooters can be classified by their perspective of play
-First person shooters are played within the protagonist's perspective; they often include key information such as the current health of the protagonist.
-Most popular current example is 'Call of Duty'
-In third-person shooters, the protagonist's body can be seen fully; the environment is rendered from a distance. Some shooters incorporate both perspectives.

Role play games-There are many different types of RPGs, and they originate from traditional role play games such as Dungeons and Dragons.

-Most of these games cast the player in the role of an adventurer protagonist who use their skills whilst moving through a story.
-There are many sub-genres in the game

Sandbox RPGs
-Sandbox or open world RPGs involve lots of free-roaming and freedom. These games have a huge amount of content, including
secondary characters and settings which are not immediately relevant to the gameplay. They often create an entire region.  
Possibly the most popular and enduring Sandbox game is Minecraft.

Simulation-
-Simulation video games is a diverse super-category of games, generally designed to closely simulate aspects of a real or fictional reality
sub-genres include-
-construction- such as sim city
-life- such as sims
-vehicle



















Strategy-
-Involve detailed and careful thinking to achieve victory
-The action ranges from world domination to squad-basic tactics
-strategy games can be turn-based or real-time. An example of this include Warcraft.

















Sports-
-Sports games involve playing sports in a form of a game.
-They can be controlled by real life people or artificial intelligence.
-Popular examples include football, such as FIFA, basketball including NBA, and sports based fighting such as WWE.
