Within my essay, I’m going to explore the use of intertextuality in The Big Issue front cover, and evaluate how useful and advantageous the meaning of this intertextual reference is. Compare how media language is used in the construction of gender in two print advertisements for fragrances. The two fragrance advertisements that I will be deeply analysing is, Beyoncé’s ‘Heat’ perfume advertisement and Calvin Klein advertisement called ‘Reveal’. I chose these two advertisements because they are both very successful branded perfume, and are highly recognized protagonist by the modern society.
